Why do the wicked sufferBy: Christine Jean-Louis

I hope the title made of this article made you laugh, or even crack a little smile. But in all seriousness my brothers and sisters in Christ, it is time for us to really take a handle of our faith and to sincerely apply Jesus’ instruction to “not be anxious about your life” (Matthew 6:25). There was a significant lesson that Jesus was trying to show us when He took His time to draw out such a beautiful picture with His words in Matthew 6:25-31. He demonstrated how even the birds of the air and the lilies of the fields are well kept and provided for without fretting or worrying. The question is also asked of us, “Are ye not more valuable then they?” By allowing worry and anxiety to get the best of you, your thoughts, your potential for productivity, and your time, you in many ways begin to glorify the state of being worried and not GOD. By doing this you step out of His will which is for us to acknowledge Him in all our paths, but rather you allow disturbing thoughts to cause you torment and in essence take control of the situation. Think of a situation that may have caused you to worry, now think of Gods hands in the situation… do you think He stopped being present when you went through whatever that circumstance was, NO. God was still God and was still faithful. Worry causes you to take your eyes off of God, by placing it on the situation which leads you to feeling burdened.

I have seen the detrimental effects that worry can cause physically, one can only imagine how much it takes a toll spiritually. I urge you today to lay any worries aside and to leave them at the feet of Jesus. Our God can calm any and every storm… natural and spiritual. Your faith pleases God and sets the atmosphere for blessings and increase. Faith also waters your prayers, and my prayer is that your garden grows in full bloom because of the faith that you’ve sown. And to my sisters, lets learn a valuable lesson from Martha, who when Jesus came by her house was so busy and worried about the details of the dinner she was preparing for Him missed the lesson Jesus was teaching her sister Mary who humbly sat at His feet hungry for a Word in season. Don’t let worry rob you of your potential blessing. Be still and worry not…

Matthew 6: 34 Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. (Message Bible)

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious about nothing, but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your request know to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
