The purpose of AGMA, now in its second year, is to recognize and celebrate the work of the
sector; to showcase the talent, innovation and success of our gospel artistes.
There are 20 awards this year, covering the whole range of music activities from singing,
promotion, media and projects. They are an opportunity for your achievements to gain
recognition and to serve as an inspiration for others.
So please review what you’ve done in the past year and submit your nominations for our
expert awards committee to consider. We hope you will join us at the awards ceremony on
SATURDAY 9TH JULY 2011 at The Lighthouse Hall. Camberwell Rd, 262-274 Camberwell

Kierra Sheard Graduates — Congratulations to Kierra Sheard as she

completed her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in

Detroit, MI yesterday. The Karew Records artist is gearing up for her

upcoming release titled Free, which features production from her brother J.

Drew Sheard as well as her current radio single “Mighty”. Expect Free in

stores July 12, 2011.

Season 4 of Sunday Best To Premiere On July 10

The countdown is on for the season premiere of BET’s hit gospel competition, Sunday Best.

It airs on Sunday, July 10, 2011.

The show will be a 2-hour special premiere, airing from 8pm-10pm ET. Kirk Franklin

returns as host, along with Donnie McClurkin and Mary Mary as judges, and Kim Burrell

as the vocal mentor.

I attended some of the tapings– between the contestants and the guest performances, you do not

wanna miss this season!

as one of the most popular inspirational artists in the music

business, with classic tunes such as “Total Praise;” “Center of My

Joy;” and “I Love the Lord” to his credit, the Grammy-nominated

singer, songwriter and pianist continues to enjoy widespread

popularity and influence.



On the heels of their successful current project, Resting On His Promise, JJ

Hairston & Youthful Praise are prepping for the live recording of a new project on

Friday, July 8 at 6pm at The First Cathedral in Bloomfield, CT.

Walker, Jessica Reedy, Tye Tribbett and Kathy Taylor, I’ve got a feeling that the

night is going to be one to remember.
