There is a popular hymn that goes:
“Pass me not, oh gentle Savior. Hear my humble cry. While on others thou art calling, do not pass me by.”
In other words, God I see you blessing other people, but please, don’t forget to bless me. I’ve been that person. In fact, I AM that person. I seem to constantly be granted a front row seat, to witness everyone getting what they ask of God. Of course I can’t help but wonder, “what about me?” But if there is ever a time that you feel forgotten, I’m here to tell you, God remembers you.
It’s hard to imagine an all knowing, all seeing, and everywhere present God to be unaware of you. And yet that is the very reason we wonder, God where are you? But no matter what you may think or feel, God. Is. There.
In the bible, so many people experienced loneliness, disappointment, want, and even defeat. But then the scripture reminds us, that God remembered all of them. Read with me:
“Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and enabled her to conceive.” – Genesis 30:22
“But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.” – Genesis 8:1
“I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.” – Exodus 6:5
“When God destroyed the cities of the plain, He remembered Abraham, and He brought Lot out of the catastrophe that destroyed the cities where he had lived.” – Genesis 19:29
These scriptures are just a few of many. It’s also a reminder that, the same way God remembered them, God will remember you. If the very hairs on your head are numbered, as the good book says, you can count on God hearing you. Keep going, keeping pushing, keep fighting. Your time is coming, very soon.
