In 1970 Judy Blume wrote a young adult novel titled “Are you there God? It’s Me, Margaret.” The novel managed to capture the collective frustration, struggle, and quest to find God wherever and whatever he might be.
“I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart.
“I know I have to do it one day, but I’m trying to work out some of my issues within myself.” That was the response he gave me, an old friend who I was catching up with regarding his salvation.
This picture pretty much sums up what I’ve been feeling lately. While some things are moving along, there are those annoyances that keep creeping up and messing up my flow.

The words of Christ found in Matthew 22:37 says, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Jesus is recorded as saying “this is the first commandment” in another portion of scripture.
So you called the physician, made your appointment, and now you’re ready to go to the doctor’s office to get a solution for whatever ailment, is bothering you. You expect to leave with a solution that will help your current situation.
No pants (for women), no make-up, no earrings, no red fingernail polish, no secular music, no proms or school dances, this was how the old church preached holiness.

It’s show time. Just a few more minutes and they will be calling my name. I was asked to sing at church and I reluctantly accepted. Now, I have to get up out of my seat where no one even notices me and sing in front of all these people. I feel it coming on.
